AAC Application Mini Review and Sales 2025

April and May are popular months for AAC sales due to Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month (April) and Better Speech and Hearing Month (May).
Tobii Dynavox
Tobii Dynavox is extending their trial period to 60 days for anyone who starts a subscription from April 21-25. Their application has recently changed to a subscription model, costing $9.99 a month for the full voice output system.
Commonly referred to as TD Snap, this system offers various pages with different benefits
“Core words” page offers common pronouns, verbs, to formulate sentences
“Quick fires” page for quick comments and requests
“Topics” page for categorical phrases and vocabulary

PRC-Saltillo
PRC-Saltilla is offering a 50% off AAC Apps from April 24-May 7th. Their commonly used apps are TouchChat and LAMP Words for Life.
Touch Chat is typically $299.99, so about $150 during the sale. Touch Chat has many vocabulary systems available ranging from “Quick Chats” to full systems. The most commonly used systems have a “core words” home page with pronouns and verbs to formulate simple sentences and expand into categorical vocabulary pages.

LAMP Words for Life is typically $299.99, so about $150 during the sale. LAMP stands for Language Acquisition through Motor Planning. I would consider this the most popular motor planning centered app. This means that unlike the other applications that are organized more categorically, and might find words on multiple pages (i.e., color words on the art page and on clothes page), each word only appears once. This has users focus on the motor plan required to find a word and builds on the consistency of that motor plan rather than category based word finding.

Assistive Ware
Assistive Ware has popular apps, such as proloquo2go that had a sale only April 2-9. They often host a second sale in October for AAC Awareness month, so look out for that if that is the system you feel would be best.
